‘this works with div backgrounds too’.
I should add I needed some javascript to get the motion:

document.getElementById(’topmenuImg’+id).style.backgroundPosition=’bottom’;

this works with div backgrounds too. it is unbelievable how much of a difference this made over the method I was using. Kudos for this, man. Thanks.
